“I became a machine, entertaining to please an empty room...” - BRE
"I've been in the music industry since I was 16, pursuing a career as an artist. After a decade of being told what to do and how to look in order to be successful (without luck), I picked up and moved to New Zealand to go find myself. I needed to know who I was outside of the music industry. What was supposed to be a 3 month trip volunteering with a local environmental nonprofit became a 6 month life changing period of growth. I found who I was and discovered my love for music again. While living in a local hostel in Auckland, I wrote Becoming Human about this process, even including it in a live concert album to that I performed for the hostel residents. Becoming Human is a song that means a lot to me as it represents the turning of a new page, leaving behind the old and coming into the new." - BRE

Becoming Human Lyrics
No more mask and no more bravado
What you see is all I am tonight
No fake smile And no more pretending
I’ll stay the same when they turn out the light
I became a machine entertaining to please an empty room
For the fame I would trade all I had cause all I knew
The only way to love was to make myself someone new
But could I be enough? Cause I’m becoming human
So many words with so little meaning
I just wanted to mean something to you
So many years On stage pretending
I had it figured out when I didn’t have a clue
I became a machine entertaining to please an empty room
For the fame I would trade all I had cause all I knew
The only way to love was to make myself someone new
But could I be enough? Cause I’m becoming human
